Concrete Contractor Winterset IA - Driveways, Barn Floors & Stamped Patios
We pour driveways, walks, stamped and plain patios in Winterset, and barn and shop floors across the Madison County countryside.

It's the farthest town we serve from downtown Des Moines, and we plan each trip so the crew and the concrete arrive together.

Concrete Work We Do in Winterset
In town: driveway replacements, front walks and steps, stamped concrete patios, and garage floors. Out of town: pole barn and machine shed floors, door aprons, and pads for equipment and tanks. On rural jobs, ready-mix travel time is part of the plan, so we schedule pours early in the day and confirm the plant's delivery window before we commit to a date.

Winterset Permits
Winterset's Building & Zoning Department handles construction permits, and work in the public right-of-way needs its own permit. Projects that move a lot of soil may also need a grading permit. We check with the City about your address and scope before we quote. Outside city limits, Madison County's rules apply.

Rolling Ground, Older Soils
Winterset sits in rolling farmland, with the Middle River along the south side of town, well south of where the last glacier stopped at Des Moines. That older landscape is steeply rolling hills and valleys with loess on the uplands. Slopes mean runoff, so we grade every slab to shed water and set driveway joints with the grade in mind.

Around Winterset
Winterset is the Madison County seat and the birthplace of John Wayne, and the John Wayne Birthplace Museum opened here in 2015. Madison County has six covered bridges, one of them in Winterset City Park along with Clark Tower, and the Covered Bridge Festival is held every second weekend in October. The courthouse on the square dates to 1868 and was rebuilt in 1876 after a fire.
